How do you set up a company shop for workwear?

A corporate shop is a dedicated online shop featuring your company’s approved, ready-to-wear garments. Employees can order items in their own sizes independently; Kustom handles warehousing, finishing and dispatch. For Corporate Wear customers, this shop solution is free of charge and goes live around a week after the product range has been approved. We currently operate over 165 such shops.

What a corporate shop can do

Without a company shop, every order has to go through a designated contact person within the business: collecting sizes, coordinating requests, placing a bulk order, and distributing the goods. This process starts all over again with every new order and every repeat order. A company shop takes precisely this workload off the business’s hands.

In the shop, each person can only see what has been made available to them — the right items, the right colours, already branded with your logo. Orders are placed directly, without going through HR.

The result is a consistent look: as only approved items can be ordered, there are no ad-hoc solutions and no colour variations over the years.

What Kustom takes care of, and what you’ll still need to do yourself

Kustom manages products, stock, finishing and dispatch. Your organisation defines the product range and authorised user group once — after that, day-to-day management essentially involves nothing more than managing new users and those leaving the system, as well as the budgets.

That is the key difference compared to running your own shop: it doesn’t create any extra administrative work – in fact, it reduces it.

How the budget works

The employer sets the budget available to each employee per period. Employees can spend it in the shop; the settlement process can be tailored to suit individual needs.

Orders that exceed the budget can be paid for privately — which is handy for anyone who wants something extra without the company having to foot the bill.

Delivery either in bundles or directly

You decide how deliveries are made: as a consolidated delivery to the workplace or directly to employees’ home addresses. Direct delivery completely eliminates the need for internal distribution, particularly where there are multiple sites or for field staff.

In the shop, delivery is free on orders of CHF 100 or more.

When does it start to be worth it?

Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need a large business to make this work: an automated solution is worthwhile even with as few as five employees. It is not so much the size of the business that matters, but rather the regularity of reorders and staff turnover.

A business with eight employees and a high staff turnover benefits more than one with thirty employees who are kitted out with new uniforms every three years.

The same principle also applies to clubs and associations in the form of a club shop, including credit and discount schemes for members.
